honestly, loved watching it. the family dynamics and the ensemble cast truly carried this whole movie. the chemistry, the interactions: it was wonderful to witness. sure, the third act conflict was a bit... er. but it rides itself out and gives us that absolutely heartwarming moment between prem and preeti so i'll ignore it lol. it's a good movie. and prem is such a simp i love him Imao.

📖 ~ Seven Days in June
rating: 4.5/5
i have no idea what it is abt two messed up people finding solace in each other that gets me so bad but it does. i think this book captures a lot of things pretty well. and chapter 15: even though messed up things happen in it or rather BECAUSE they happen, that chapter remains my favorite from this entire book. admittedly, this book falls a bit in its third act, but the ending scene did strike something in my cold little heart and fog my eyes. ("you won. you won!" "and lost.") like damn. the pain of knowing u're perfect for each other but not being able to be together yet with all the baggage u carry. my biggest disappointment was, and this may sound morbid of me, that eva didn't die. i was fully expecting her to do so in the epilogue. the set up was there. i can also argue that there was suitable foreshadowing and it was exactly what the tone of the epilogue was implying, but instead i got some mushy reunion scene which didn't feel earned at all. now let me skip the depressing stuff and geek abt the stuff i liked in this book in very unseemly fashion: EVA CARVING THEIR INITIALS INTO THEIR ARMS AND BRANDING THEM DJDJSKKS DID SUMN TO ME BRO. AND THE FACT THAT HER EROTICA WAS NAMED "CURSED" BECAUSE MERCIER WOMEN ARE CURSED W BAD LUCK W MEN. and shane hall damn the man that u are ugh. he's so down bad for her. "i love you. dramatically, violently. and forever." >>>>

🎬 ~ Red, White & Royal Blue
rating: 7.5/10
i had fun watching this movie. it's cute, funny, and gives a sense of comfort?? i mean, it IS an adaptation of my comfort book so i suppose the same would go for the movie too. i loved the montage section of alex getting to know henry over texts and in the texas campaign. the last scene perfectly captured the tension of election night through that one shot scene. also, i adore the way they showed the phone call between alex and henry (thanksgiving turkey scene), as if henry was physically present in alex's room when they were talking over the phone. i feel like that was a wonderful visual representation of how close they had become as friends. nicholas galitzine was adorable. i wanted to hug this guy so many times in this movie. this movie rlly is for the book fans because it shows us henry's version of the events that went down. if the book was alex's, this movie is definitely henry's. i just wish i'd known the runtime before going into this movie lol. it would've helped me pace my mind along with the narrative more. the scene where they dance at the museum with "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You" playing on alex's phone? SUBLIME. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. even the comfort and intimacy when henry plays piano and alex watches after they've been outed publicly. and OH, THE WAY THEY EMBRACE EACH OTHER AND FALL ON THE STAIRS AFTER FINALLY MEETING EACH OTHER AGAIN AFTER THAT TRAUMATISING EVENT—wonderful. clearly, i love this movie. p.s. that casey mcquiston book easter egg was hilarious lol.

📺 ~ Invincible (Season 1)
rating: 10/10
this is one of those shows where it is almost impossible to find faults. i watched it over the course of three days, and this was probably my third attempt to watch it, which thankfully, i was able to see through this time. i was taking tiny notes while watching it, and after perusing them, it is safe to say that this is probably one of the best adaptations and animated shows i've ever seen. the score is great, the pacing was consistent, expectations were almost always subverted. this show is quite literally not what u would normally expect: it is darker, toes the very thin and blurry line of morality, and the ups and downs of growing up. omni-man is a despicable and irredeemable villain yet he shows SOME emotion towards the end coz ultimately, mark is his SON. the ending scene of episode one remains the best. the absolute brutality (which set the tone for the rest of this show), the complete silence, the tension, the hopelessness: perfect. the characters are complex, the plot very consistent (chekov's gun is artfully used and most conflicts are never completely resolved as they come into play later), and it's great to see this medium taking off in this direction. it raises questions, keeps u on the edge of ur seat, and while i did successfully catch the foreshadowing in the opening scenes of the first two episodes, that doesn't mean the eventual revelations didn't hit any harder (the pun was extremely unintended). also, i love the detail of how more and more blood keeps splattering on the title card of each episode. overall, wonderfully done show. i applaud everyone who worked on it—they did a phenomenal job.

🎬 ~ John Wick
rating: 7/10
this review is being written in 2025 because yet again, i have forgotten to write a review wow. mind you, i remember absolutely zero things from this movie.
so the dog died, yes. i knew that already coz let's be real: EVERYONE knows the dog died. it was a little sad coz of the context but we got through it. the action was good, fight choreography on point. and colors also looked real pretty. this movie kinda reminds me of the hitman games. i think the plot of this movie was what fell flat for me a lil bit. but the whole baba yaga thing and the way everyone was terrified of john wick just by reputation was sick. i loved that. i think it's the later movies that people love more so i look forward seeing those.
