🎬 ~ Inside Out 2

rating: 10/10

wholly unexpected for a sequel to match its sublime predecessor, but man does pixar know how a person's mind works and rip out all those emotions. i thoroughly enjoyed it. got a lil worried at first when i saw the screentime was only 93 mins and thought it might've been rushed but it was not and it all went great. loved the new emotions, new lore, new things in riley's mind. i can't think of anything bad to say about this movie. i loved all of it, and it hurt me just as much i initially thought it was going to. it was such a beautiful ending and message. best pixar franchise to date tbh. y'all rlly know how to hit the mark.

🎬 ~ Deadpool & Wolverine

rating: 7.75/10

loved watching it. hilarious meta jokes, gratuitous cursing and cameos—felt like marvel but also not marvel?? that's a compliment btw. the johnny storm thing was shocking and funny. deadpool and wolverine's dynamic CARRIED this movie. a perfect double feature. the sexual tension was so insane lol. need i even mention the car fight (more like car sex)? the music, the epicness; it's a fun movie fr. would've loved watching it in theatres but ehh unfortunate circumstances. marvel is very VERRY slowly coming back. only bad thing abt this movie was the boring antagonist. the power imbalance was real but why r they all so umm stupid and delusional? and there wasn't much emotional connection but there was enough of it for it to be fine. it was alright. plot could've done a bit more but ehh i liked what i got. gambit's accent was horrible tho.

📺 ~ The Umbrella Academy (Season 4)

rating: 3.5/10

missed potential on crack. it was awful. plot? what plot? it was lazy asf. no character was done well. there was no nuance. it was stupid. zero creativity, i swear. can't believe i rated this lower than echo—at least that one had SOME substance. the cinematography and style this season was cute ofc, but what else? why was i being bombarded by baby shark at every turn? the ending was dogshit and felt very unearned and rushed. i watched the second half of the season on 2x speed coz i didn't wanna put up w the bullcrap, and the entire five and lila affair LAWD did it give me the biggest of biggest icks ever. i was so uncomfortable, and IT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE. y'all missed big-time. idk what went wrong in the writers room. this entire season just felt like a puff-piece to wrap up the franchise. honestly speaking it would've been better to abandon it after season 3's ambiguous ending—at least the audience could cook w more imagination than whatever netflix can ever hire, and the way the entire sparrow academy was js written out of the show like what??? man this was weird asf. everything was butchered. wtf was that shit ahh convo reggie has w his wife that tries to justify her ending the world? he's known to be a stubborn man but she just said "uwu u shouldn't have brought me back" and he went "aww man i understand" LIKE HUH!? massive L to this show. at least five was fine asf.
