definitely one of the more interesting movies i've watched. i recognised that it was a satire but i didn't have an idea of WHAT exactly until i read one letterboxd review. i'm too dumb to catch and intellectualise allegory unless it's spoonfed to me—i'm new to this lol. but anyway this was my first time seeing anya taylor joy's work and she's wonderful. ralph fiennes could've been in his voldemort persona and this movie would still be funny. i quite liked the close-room setting of the movie and how it all escalates within that enclosed space. i thought this was just an exaggerated comedy drama abt making the quintessential cheeseburger w jon favreau as the chef but i was VERY wrong on almost all accounts. seeing the horror/thriller tag in the genre section made me raise an eyebrow haha. the format of the movie itself was quite unique so i have to praise it for its originality. it's a critique on critics and i kinda love that. the movie did what it came to do and did a decent job at it, so kudos to all. this is smart screenwriting.
