🎬 ~ Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3

rating: 4.5/10

i watched it in a sparsely populated theatre at 11pm so it was definitely a vibe and not a bad experience. i knew not to take it seriously and enjoyed most of it for what it was (ofc i was covering my eyes sometimes at the jumpscare scenes lol). i was js so down bad for tripti dimri the whole time. she's so gorgeous and beautiful and hot andndjdjdk ok i'll stop. roohan's chapri ass personality was a turnoff because it was giving ripoff bunny and naina with none of the nuance. ofc vidya balan ate her role up. her screen presence is unmatched asf. that scene where her and madhuri dixit dance in the court to that iconic song—i recorded the entire thing on my phone because i fuxxing loved EVERYTHING about that scene. the colors and set and cinematography: magnificent. but the plot of this movie in the last thirty minutes became so convoluted with one plot twist after the other, it ruined my good impression of the movie. the random ass trans messaging was so out of left field, and turns out manjulilka, this icon of female rage, wasn't even female in the end???? this could've been good bro, but the writers ruined it. major disappointment in the end. i did like one song from the movie, i'll add it to my spotify later. also that one scene where tripti dimri douses herself in gasoline and is abt to burn herself: holy shi bro that scene was so good. the tension, the emotional stakes, the way it was completely silent—if anything, that scene alone is such a wonderful lil piece of film-making, it deserves its own award in some way. honestly there was sm missed potential w tripti dimri's character. if u were going for sm plot twists anyway, they could've made her a ghost reincarnation too, or the actual antagonist of the movie. there were alr sm hints so that it would've made perfect sense for her to be a ghost, like the tv scene where she speaks directly to roohan. man, such bad writing here.
