Ben Stiller cooked so hard with this one. redefined storytelling, i tell you. it's hard to come by such realised media that isn't afraid to display nuanced social commentary. i was intrigued , and immediately started watching the show, when i saw its tagline for the first time — "there's more to work than life." i feel like in this current age of die-hard capitalism and the direction our time is going in, this type of story was really necessary. now, i watched this a while ago, so i don't remember much of the nitty gritty of the plot, but let me list some things i loved: DYLAN G. i loved this guy and he's my favorite character, hands down. the whole plotline with mark's wife being ms. casey was so crazy, especially with the reveal at the end. speaking of which, the finale of this season was a masterclass in television like oh my gOD. i haven't seen such a tight direction and script since The Bear. helly's outie being the villain also creates such an interesting dynamic to explore in the rest of the plot because while helly is a good person and feisty, her other self who is also basically her is evil asf lol. she's her own worst enemy. and it's also interesting how mark is an everyman sorta character yk he's just a guy yet he's the protagonist of the show and i'm interested in his development. lastly, the old man yaoi was not expected but we vibed with it even tho i was doomed. okay i'm done with the review. oh yea also, the production design of this show is crazy good.
