πŸ“– ~ The Murder of Roger Ackroyd

rating: 5/5

baby's first agatha christie novel at the big age of twenty πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί HOLY FUDGEBALLS GOOD SHIT DAWG. this was so so so so yummy and good i was eating it up and licking the plate like WOAH. i loved knowing who the real murderer was before starting the book and then seeing all the discrepancies and stupidity and dramatic irony. i had the entire murder figured out by chapter 6. i'm literally hercule poirot bro. speaking of which, FIRST HERCULE POIROT BOOK!! i didn't know this was one of his before starting but it was a pleasant surprise to see my goat stevie bell's hero in action in real time. got that scene where hercule talks to james about how james must've committed the murder was so tense and suspenseful and dramatic FUCK IM IN LOVE. i could see it all so clearly in my head. agatha christie you dog. i love you. this book is so well-written. i hate the info-dumpiness of modern who-dunnits that try to imitate christie's model BUT THE QUEEN OF MYSTERIES DOES IT SO WELL!!! genuinely one of my best reading experiences. i was vibrating and giggling when hercule gathered all the suspects to discuss who the murderer would be and give them a chance. FUCK. reminded me of my truly devious days i miss stevie bell and david eastman (though i haven't read book 6 yet so idk why tf he cheated on my princess). FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU i'm experiencing a book high πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒ
