📺 ~ Fallout (Season 1)

rating: 9.75/10

contrary to my fears of this show being a subpar cashgrab, this turned out to be a treat. it seems that video game adaptations are staying true to their roots and being done proper justice. honestly would've given this show a 10 but i was held back by a plothole (like lucy and the brotherhood of steel knowing moldaver's location even tho only the ghoul knew abt it) and a tiny personal grievance abt the lack of chemistry between lucy and maximus. otherwise, it was such a good season. lucy's arc was truly insane, i loved it. the way she spent the entire season trying to save her dad only to find out he was the real bad guy the entire time, wow. and although the narrative was tasked with having to handle multiple characters and storylines all at once, it managed to balance and pace it well without making it seem clunky. the show doesn't lose itself despite its humourous moments (hi marvel) and portrays the horrors of a post-nuclear holocaust world wonderfully. i only know the barest of the bare minimum of the games, but i loved how they showed the different factions, monsters, and how morally bankrupt the world really is. and vault-tec starting the bombing? goodness gracious, that's another level of cruelty. i can't wait to see how next season goes. norm is my favourite character (and new blorbo).
